Classical Setup

The standard London setup against classical d5.

Move-by-Move Analysis

1.d4 - Controls the center.

1...d5 - Classical response.

2.Bf4 - London System! White develops the bishop early.

2...Nf6 - Black develops naturally.

3.e3 - White supports d4 and prepares to develop.

3...c5 - Black challenges the center.

4.c3 - White solidifies the center.

4...Nc6 - Black develops the knight.

5.Nd2 - White prepares Ndf3 or Nb3.

White's plans: Play Ngf3, Bd3, O-O. Build slowly and look for e4 breaks.

Black's plans: Develop ...Bg4 or ...Bf5. Castle and play ...e6 or ...e5.
